Kylon does not use one retention period for everything. How long data is kept depends on what it is. The Privacy Policy also says it does not promise immediate erasure from every system, a uniform retention period across providers, or zero retention.

How long each type is kept

  • Account data (your name, email, avatar and sign-in details): kept for as long as your account exists. After you delete your account, it is deleted within 30 days and backup copies are purged within 90 days.
  • Content (messages, files and table data): kept for as long as the Workspace it lives in. Workspace administrators can delete content within their permissions. Copies that were placed into other Workspace resources are considered separately.
  • Session and device data: kept as needed for sign-in, session management and security.
  • Usage and analytics data: kept in the forms used for service analytics.
  • Logs and backups: have their own retention and deletion processes. Removing content does not mean every log or backup copy is erased at that moment.
  • Connection credentials: the sign-in tokens and API keys for a Connection are removed from the active Connection when an authorized user disconnects it. This is separate from deleting content that was retrieved through the Connection, and from backup copies.

Kylon may also keep some information where the law requires it, or for necessary security investigations.

Remove things you control

  1. Delete content you can delete. Workspace administrators can delete content in the Workspace within their permissions. Content that was copied into other resources, such as an App or a file, may need to be deleted there too.
  2. Disconnect a Connection. Open Connections, open the actions menu for the Connection, select Disconnect, then confirm with Disconnect. The confirmation says Agents and members lose access to the account. Disconnecting stops further access. It does not delete content that was already copied into the Workspace.
  3. Delete an App with care. When you delete an App, the delete dialog says that if the App has a database, the database and its data are deleted when the Workspace is deleted. Workspace deletion can take a few minutes. It does not immediately erase backup copies.
  4. Ask for deletion of the rest. For personal data or anything you cannot delete yourself, see Request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal data.

Account deletion

Kylon's Account and data page says that when you delete your account, your account data is deleted within 30 days and residual copies in backups are purged within 90 days. Content you contributed to a Workspace remains available to that Workspace, and administrators control its deletion. The Privacy Policy separately notes that it does not promise a uniform retention period across all systems; the 30-day and 90-day figures apply specifically to account data after account deletion.
