A Connection belongs to the person who set it up. Only they can use it until they share it. You can keep it private, share it with everyone in the Workspace, or pick specific people and Agents.
Before you start
- Only the owner can change who has access on the Connections page. Connections that other people shared with you appear under Shared by others and have no access controls for you.
- Connections held by one Agent, such as a sign-in kept on that Agent's computer, cannot be shared. The dialog says Held by the agent and names the Assigned agent. To move one, create a new Connection from another Agent's Connections page.
- You usually do not need to share a Connection with an Agent. When you ask an Agent to do something, it can use your Connection automatically. Share it with an Agent only if other people who can access that Agent should be able to use the Connection too.
Steps
- Open Connections. In the left rail, select Connections.
- Open the menu. Under My connections, find the Connection and select the three-dot menu on its row.
- Select Manage access. The Manage access dialog opens with the Connection's name.
- Choose who can use it.
- Only me. Just you can use this Connection.
- Specific people & agents. Only the people and Agents you choose. Search under Search people or agents to add and select each one.
- Everyone in workspace. All human members, including those who join later. Agents need to be added individually.
- Select Save. You see Connection access updated. If you see Couldn't update connection access., try again.
What happens next
- People you added see the Connection under Shared by others. They can use it when they work with an Agent, and they can send drafts that Agent creates for it. See What an Agent can do with a Connection.
- Owners and admins already on the list show an Owner or Admin label and cannot be removed in this dialog. The Admin label belongs to the person who set up the Connection. A Workspace admin who does not hold a grant on this Connection cannot manage or disconnect it from this dialog.
- Sharing does not give anyone your login. Each person acts through the Connection, within the permissions you granted when you connected it.
- To remove access from an Agent, open the Agent's profile and select its Connections tab. The tab appears when the Agent has at least one Connection. Open the menu on the shared row and select Disconnect. The dialog says the Agent loses access, and the Connection stays available anywhere else it is shared. You see Access removed. Changing an Agent's connections requires member access on that Agent.
