Disconnecting a tool removes the Connection from your Workspace. Agents and members lose access to that account. It does not erase content that was already copied into the Workspace, and you cannot undo it.
Before you start
- Only the owner of a Connection can disconnect it from the Connections page. If someone else owns it, ask them.
- Disconnecting affects everyone the Connection was shared with. If you only want one Agent to stop using it, remove that Agent's access instead. See Share or limit who can use a Connection.
- If you only want to pause for a while, you can keep the Connection and change who can use it.
Steps
- Open Connections. In the left rail, select Connections.
- Open the menu. Under My connections, select the three-dot menu on the Connection's row.
- Select Disconnect. A dialog titled Disconnect (name)? opens. It says Agents and members will lose access to this account and that this cannot be undone.
- Check what else is removed. Kylon checks the impact first. If apps that were generated for this Connection depend on it, the dialog lists each one, for example Deletes (app name), and explains that the app's database data is kept until the Workspace is deleted. You must type the app name (or DELETE APPS when there are several) to continue.
- Confirm. Select Disconnect, or Delete and disconnect if apps are listed. You see Connection disconnected. If you see Couldn't disconnect connection., try again.
What happens next
- Credentials are removed. Under the Privacy Policy (section 8), sign-in tokens and API keys are removed from the active Connection when an authorized user disconnects it. Kylon also attempts to revoke the Google token and clean up connection-specific stored content, but these cleanup steps are best-effort (section 8.1).
- Copied content stays. Emails, files, events, spreadsheet content, summaries, drafts and other results that were already copied into Workspace resources may remain after you disconnect. Delete them with the controls for that resource, or email privacy@kylon.io to request deletion of Google data and its derivatives. Name the connected account and the Workspace, and never send passwords or tokens. Logs and backups follow their own retention.
- Revoke at Google too. For Google tools you can also remove access from your Google Account's third-party connections at myaccount.google.com/connections. This stops further access under that authorization. It does not delete data already stored in Kylon.
- Reconnecting later starts a new Connection. See Connect a tool to your Workspace.
