Kylon vs Pipedrive

Pipedrive shows you the pipeline. Kylon updates it for you.

Kylon is a workspace where agents sit with the team, read the thread and the tools you connected, and hand back the records, the dashboard and the email draft for one person to approve.

Choose Pipedrive if

A pipeline you can see, moved by the rep who owns it.

Choose Kylon if

A room where you ask for the work and approve what comes back.

01 Which one is the right answer

Not every team should pick the same one.

Pipedrive is the right answer when

A sales team wants the pipeline itself to be the interface: stages you drag, a clear view of what is where, and a rep who keeps their own deals moving. Pipedrive is built tightly around that view.

Kylon is the right answer when

The pipeline is accurate only when someone remembers to update it. The context is a mailbox thread and a call, the work starts as a message, and the result has to come back for a person to approve in the same place.

How each one works

Every statement about Pipedrive below cites Pipedrive's own product pages or knowledge base. Checked 2026-09-16.

Where the work happens
PipedriveEmail lives in Sales Inbox once an account is connected, with conversations linked to deals, leads or projects automatically or by hand, and the same threads readable from the detail view of a deal, contact or organisation.Source: Email sync, Pipedrive Knowledge Base
KylonThe work happens in the room where the team already talks about the deal. The request, what the agent read, and the records it produced are one thread instead of an inbox beside a detail view.
Who keeps the records current
PipedriveA rep moves the deal and fills the fields, and an automation can create, update or delete a person, organisation, activity or deal once someone has built the rule for that case.Source: Automations: first steps, Pipedrive Knowledge Base
KylonAn agent reads the mailbox, the calendar and the thread you granted it, then writes the contact, the company and the stage change as a proposed change you can see before it lands.
What the assistant does
PipedriveSales Assistant, in beta for a selected group of accounts, answers questions using deals, activities and contacts from the account, summarises content up to 300 characters, generates text for notes and emails, and shows the sources behind an answer in a Sources tab.Source: Sales Assistant, Pipedrive Knowledge Base
KylonThe agent answers with the work attached. The reply carries the record changes it proposes and the email it drafted, with the thread or message each one came from.
Who applies what the AI produces
PipedrivePipedrive writes that a user initiates every AI interaction, reviews inputs and outputs, keeps visibility over AI generated content, and gets to edit any AI suggestion before using it. Account settings access controls which AI features are on.Source: Pipedrive AI: smart, secure and designed for everybody
KylonThe agent applies the change and asks once. Records, dashboard and email draft arrive in the thread behind a single approve control, with the source next to each proposed write.
Asking in plain language
PipedriveThrough the Pipedrive MCP server, assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude can find and update records, create activities or run workflows in natural language over a secure OAuth connection that respects existing Pipedrive permissions.Source: Sales automation software, Pipedrive
KylonThe same kind of request is made in the room the team already uses, and the answer stays there. Teammates see what was asked, what the agent read and what it wrote, rather than it happening in one person's private chat.
What setting up automation takes
PipedriveAn automation is a trigger event plus an action event, built by a global admin or a user with the right permissions: pick the entity and whether it was added, updated or deleted, add conditions, choose the actions, then save it and set it to Active.Source: Automations: first steps, Pipedrive Knowledge Base
KylonYou describe the outcome in the room. If it should repeat, the same request is saved as a scheduled or event driven run, and its output stays in the room.

What Kylon is for

Kylon is the layer where the work is asked for and approved. It reads the tools you already run, including a CRM, and returns records, dashboards and drafts into the conversation that produced them. Being the pipeline board a sales team works out of every day is a different job, and Kylon is not that product.

Questions people ask

Do we have to leave Pipedrive?
No. Connect the account to the room and the agent reads and writes through it, so the pipeline stays where your team already works.
We already use the MCP server from ChatGPT. How is this different?
Where it happens and who sees it. The request, what the agent read and the change it made stay in the team's room behind one approval, instead of in a private chat window.
Does anything send on its own?
No. Email is drafted for a person to send, and anything that changes a record outside the room waits for approval.
